Hi! I’m Tara. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Ben and together we have our daughter, Lilly.
I spend my days working in a hospital setting as a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical alcohol drug counselor and then I come home and get to be wife and mother.
Generally speaking, I am new to the Catholic faith and have so much to learn. I was drawn into Catholicism largely because of its support of social justice and mercy. Currently I am learning about Catholicism, how to live out my faith as well as how to love and advocate for my fellow humans.
The more I learn about my faith the more I am trying to incorporate it into our family and how we raise our daughter. I have so many questions, so many emotions and so much excitement for what I understand to be truth. This blog is a way for me to ask the questions about my faith that I am working to understand. It is also one way I share our family’s story of living out (trying to) our Catholic faith as well as loving others and acting mercifully. This blog may be a place for me to pose questions as well as delve deeper into my thoughts on any topics related to community, justice, faith, my career, family and more.
The blog name ‘Village Park ‘ speaks to my desire to live in solidarity with those around me and work with them in healing, grieving, loving and everything else that we experience as humans. Village Park is a local community so the name is a reminder that cherishing others in my community can start here, at home.
